In conjunction with an oscilloscope, the measuring head allows the description of the amplitudes of longitudinal oscillations and - in the form of a sinusoid - the undesired transversal or transverse vibrations in sonotrode construction. Functionality and demarcation The measuring head USM 3.1. (or USM mini) itself can be operated with any commercially available oscilloscope2. The measuring head records both the frequency and the respective amplitude at the selected measuring point. The measuring head is guided to the sonotrode for measurement - the measurement is made via direct contact to the sonotrode.
